The Silverdale Historical Society runs an number of activities and events throughout the year.
Rag rug workshop
At the Pioneer Village, Silverdale – booking essential
New Date: Saturday 18 June 2022
Clippy Rag Rugs – the perfect way to upcycle your old clothes !
We have several in the Silverdale Pioneer Village, both old and new.
The workshop is designed to show you how to make a small rug (seat pad size) and will be from 10am to 3pm and at a cost of $60 – this will include full tuition/rug tools and hessian.
(There will be some “clippy” fabric available to use but you will need to bring some as well)
Full details of what to bring with you will be sent when your booking is confirmed.
Morning tea is provided , please bring a packed lunch (or nip to one of the local shops)
The tutor is Jennifer Hacking , a volunteer in the Village, who is an enthusiastic and experienced rag rug maker and knows the tricks and hints to make it fun and easy. She has made many rugs for friends in the UK for use in their narrow boats and homes.
